I disagree. You carried away a richness of experience that far exceeded the value of flowers, Panama hats, or forged artifacts.

Nice story Val. I bought a Panama hat in Cuenca, from a little workshop that looked nothing like the room you describe. So it goes. We meet the strangest characters in the strangest places, don't we? Makes you wonder if there are folks like that where we live, that only tourists here get to find.
