Joanne Guidoccio retired from a thirty-one-year teaching career and launched a second act as a writer. Her articles and book reviews have appeared in newspapers, magazines, and online. The author of six novels, Joanne writes cozy mysteries, paranormal romances, and inspirational literature from her home base of Guelph, Ontario.

Good to read about your journey. I had a similar wakeup call when I was diagnosed with breast cancer just before 9/11 happpened. My brother and sister also got cancer in 2001.

Hi Joanne, thanks for sharing your journey and congratulations on still being here :) I too had IBC, stage 3b, and I know what a miracle it is to survive IBC. Facing death and taking the cancer journey (hello—I developed hypothyroidism too!) does make you take inventory of your life and remind you to live it the best way you can! Muah! 💋
