When Fred gets up everyone else has been up and about for a while. Today is more subdued after all the excitement of yesterday. Fred writes a letter to Rita in an effort to forewarn her about the cultural shock that she might experience when she arrives. He s also a little down about the prospect of all the travelling he must undertake in the next few days.
"Basically I gave Rita some hints on what to expect in India (although that is difficult to express in words). I also asked her to try and come here with an open mind, both about India and about me. I’m sure she’s changed her attitudes in five months and I know I’m not the same person that left Frankfurt."
