Mark Boyter Forever Young 2017 | Mark is a traveller who writes, a writer who runs, a runner who drinks, and a drinker who loves movies. On rare occasions, he is all five. From Vancouver, Canada and a teacher by training, he's lived and taught in his native Canada, Japan and the UAE. His first book, Crescent Moon Over Laos, was published in 2014. He is working on other ideas that may or may not evolve into a second book, as well as a collection of short stories. He lives in Vancouver with his long-time partner and their three cats. |
The second entry this month is from Mark Boyter. He was a regular contributor in last year's competitions, so it is fantastic to be able to feature him again. I am sure you will enjoy his story A Koh Samui Shirt as much as I have. You can read it here.

Thanks for reading Ed. I suspect the rice sack shirts now are made of imported cotton and cost $35.

Thanks for reading David. I never saw John again. Didn't even have an address. I looked him up when i was driving by once, and driving by is a stretch. I was going from Vermont to West Virginia and I detoured to Fredrick. I drove past the only address for hm I could find, but he wasn't there, or rather, it didn't look like the kind of place I wanted to stop and so I didn't. I found him year later on the net, still teaching. The odd photo, but it was just a few days 30 years ago. I wonder if memories are best left as memories.
