Mather Schneider is a cab driver from Tucson, Arizona. He is married to a Mexican woman and travels frequently in Sonora Mexico, the northern part, to visit family and to experience the culture which has given him much inspiration for stories and poems. He has 3 full length books available on Amazon and a fourth coming out later this month by New York Quarterly Press. His work has been published in the small press since 1994 in many places including River Styx, Rosebud, Hanging Loose and Chiron Review. He recently won runner up in the Rattle poetry chapbook competition. |
It is always a real pleasure to welcome new writers to our travel writing competitions. Today we are featuring a very different type of travel story written by Mather Schneider. I hope you enjoy his entry A BRIEF HISTORY OF AN HERMOSILLO AFTERNOON as much as I have.
